About Me
Hello.
My names Blue (my parents called me Holly but whatever) and Im a Sad Adventurer. Whats a sad adventurer you ask, well to be completely honest, im not quite sure.
I suppose I came up with the idea when my friend and I were talking about traveling. We were talking about something that was upsetting me and she said 'would you rather be sad at home or sad seeing the world?' and the answer was definitely sad seeing the world. Just because your feeling a certain way doesnt mean you should miss out on something great. In my experiance, being wired the way I am has given me a different perspective on the things I've seen than other people may of had.
Im not a naturaly happy person. Im introverted. I like my own company and that of a few rather than many. I dont like big crowds and tend to go places alone. I like to sit in the quiet and read a book, draw or just watch the world happen. I dont like to do the 'touristy' stuff (all though thats fun too), I like to find things others may miss out on. That doesnt mean I dont talk to people though, It doesnt mean I wont go to the place were everyone else is going, or join in the fun when asked. It just means that I have to talk myself into it, give my self a pep-talk as it were and mentaly prepare myself for something that I naturaly want to avoid. Its a weird way to live and its quite confusing and exhausting at times, but its the way I am, and im betting there are alot of people out there just like me.
So I came up with this idea, to start a blog about being a Sad Adventurer. I know 'sad' isnt the right word, its an umbrella word because 'Not Naturally Happpy Adventurers Guide' just didnt roll off the tounge. I used to blog at Dear Wilderness but have been struggling with it for a while now. I wasnt happy with the persona I put out, it wasnt me, and the content seemed forced. This is a brand new space for me to truley be me. Where as before it was personal things I was writing about, this space will be more of a travel guide, mixed with personal stories and sprinkled with some extra little bits that I enjoy.
So even if your a happy camper, trying to figure life out one step at a time or looking for some motivation to get up and see the world. I hope you find something here that speaks to you.
